Happy New Year! Welcome to 2018! I’m finally emerging from my post-holiday slump and ready to get back to blogging. Our holidays were wonderful: filled with fun, family and friends but they were also exhausting and in a way (a VERY SMALL way) I’m happy to be back to my routine.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking of what is important to me this year. As a noodle, my mind floats to things like Jack’s 10th birthday in February, wrapping up some volunteer work I’m doing for school, planning our family vacation to Italy this summer. And then I have to stop myself because while all these things are important and a huge part of my life, they’re things I do and plan and focus on for others.
So much of my time and energy goes to my husband and my son and all of the things that are important to them or needed by them. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way and don’t want that to change. My ability to take care of the people in my life is something I pride myself on. But for 2018, my goal and my challenge for myself is one thing…
To take as good care of myself as I do others
I’m easing into this of course. Starting small with things like: taking my vitamins every day, drinking 8 glasses of water, eating clean and exercising. That’s this week. Next week, maybe I’ll say “no” to something I really don’t want to do or say “yes” to something unexpected. No matter the situation, I want my choices and decisions to take me to a place where I feel like I’m tuning in, paying attention and taking care of me.
Here’s to the very best 2018 we can achieve!!!
